Products: Sovay – Authentication and User ID Software Solutions
Sovay is a comprehensive server-based authentication system implementing the widest spectrum of methods from password to patented Multichannel, Multifactor Authentication. Choosing Sovay means that you will have the flexibility to configure the right level of authentication where you need it. Users will be able to use configured login methods from popular browsers and mobile clients. Administrators will be able to provision users, configure system parameters, monitor Sovay from a centralized log and receive notifications about system events and authentications.
The Sovay Server can be configured as a cloud service, the primary portal or sit side-by-side with other authentication systems in your enterprise. The many options allow incremental integration of applications, implementation in front of critical applications and on-demand authentication where high-assurance identification is needed for selected use cases.
Sovay implements patented algorithms that identify end users. The real-time human identification login procedure verifies the identity of a person. Choose from a list of biometrics partners or plug-in your choice. If you need or already have Best-of-Breed biometrics, use Sovay identification to detect and reject replay attempts, thwart man-in-the-middle scenarios and put every insider on notice they will be identified at each and every login.
For the first time in the 50 year history of authentication, your users will be identified at login.
Sovay Server is a distributed computing system implemented using Open Source and proprietary components. The Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) allows fine grained load balancing with predictable interfaces. Deployed in Tomcat and Axis2, you’ll enjoy the security, stability and reliability that comes with the most popular Open Source web service platforms.
Control of login procedures is offered in Sovay Role-based configurations. Sophisticated hierarchies allowing groups to inherit behaviors and access to applications are specified in a straightforward method providing consistent login procedures for users.
Once user authentication has been successfully completed, applications can inspect the authentication level and offer authentication-level specific features. If escalation is necessary, Sovay Server can be configured to re-activate and provide the appropriate challenge.
Authentication use cases are specified in workflows containing a list of instructions based on the user’s login device, application requirements, IP and any other arbitrarily complex logic. Where specified, instructions can even execute in parallel.
Authentication is ultimately decided by applications. To facilitate and simplify optional application logic, Sovay Server offers a scoring algorithm that goes beyond simple fusion. Sovay scoring is based on point totals. Points can be assigned for any attribute or modality used in an authentication procedure. Customers can specify whether an attribute or modality is required. At a deeper level, customers can specify OR logic such that “one-of” a particular modality passed. Of course, any math can be applied; just say so in the score descriptor.
In your implementation, you might select multiple voice recognition vendors. Your scoring algorithm can be configured to “pass voice” if any voice recognition determines a match. Alternatively, you can specify that all voice recognition engines must return a pass. Of course, this logic can be applied to different modalities leading to high assurance, high reliability identification.
Sovay Server can be configured to execute modalities in parallel since the instruction execution engine is built on top of a distributed transaction manager. The user’s time is valuable and with Sovay even if you’ve decided to use multiple biometrics engine of the same or different modalities, one instruction doesn’t have to wait for the previous to finish; if the data is available the instruction is executing. You control response time with CPU and Memory, not wall clock time.
Customers can choose any SQL80 compliant database including MySQL, Microsoft® SQL Server®, Oracle® and many others to persist Sovay data. Configuration and transactional data stores can be separated though the Sovay Data Server configuration. If you need to keep access to configuration tables behind a locked door; just say so in the Data Server Table.
If all these options are still not enough, customizations can be built using the Sovay SDK.
Sovay Clients are available for popular browsers, Android® and iOS®. The clients provide the full range of function available on the server. You can customize the clients with the look and feel you want. Alternatively, the clients can be replaced with your custom implementations though we recommend using our clients as a springboard for developers.
For green-field development and customization of clients see the Sovay SDK.
Sovay SDK provides the libraries and documentation you’ll need if you want to customize your Sovay implementation. Sovay is authored completely in Java™. You can build customizations in your favorite Java IDE and include the new functionality in Sovay WARs and JARs as well as deploy your own.
Using the Sovay SDK, you’ll be able to extend services or create your own. New services will be able to participate in Sovay Distributed Transactions, replace any Sovay calculation and implement new instructions included in Sovay Workflows. It’s what our developers use to adapt new biometrics modalities and extend our rich feature set.
